"The FULL Rotation is an exploration of the daily psychological grind of being a vulnerable human being navigating the late capitalist mechanisms of contemporary NYC. The performance is in four parts, and using movement, audio and video it veers between forced optimism, hostile pedestrian navigation, open hearted communication, and finally the break down of barriers through unabashed vulnerability.

The piece was conceived in response to my experience as a native New Yorker who has seen dramatic changes to the city during her life time. It is also in response to being part of a creative community here that feels constantly squeezed by financial concerns, while the counter culture of the past has been fetishized and absorbed into capitalism as a marketing tool. The city that was once a catalyst for so much radical thought and expression often acts as an antagonist. Looking at the bigger picture, the city has become untenable for the wide range of socioeconomic identities that once existed here, and has trended towards a pure luxury economy.

While this work doesn't offer solutions, it is meant to create a space of processing, where we can acknowledge where we're at and plant the seed for a better future."
